Recent polling of Fairbanks North Star Borough residents show voters favor accountable, efficient government and a stronger education system.
Poll respondents’ prioritized making government more accountable and efficient, with 38% ranking that as their first or second issue. The second most-important issue was strengthening the public school system. Rounding out the top three was a reduction in property taxes.
Second-tier priorities were reducing energy costs and creating more affordable housing.

The poll conducted in May by Patinkin Research Strategies reached 300 registered voters by phone and via text, and has a five-point margin of error. The survey asked what issues respondents prioritize.
