Trump threatens massive war crimes; Sullivan, Begich assent with silence

Alaska’s Republican leaders, with the exception of Sen. Lisa Murkowski, still have nothing to say about their supreme leader threatening war crimes.

The silence of Sen. Dan Sullivan and Rep. Nick Begich the Third makes them complicit.

That Trump backed down Tuesday night and announced another two-week delay is beside the point.

In their Easter Sunday display of ritual sanctimony, Sen. Dan Sullivan and Rep. Nick Begich the Third didn’t mention that Americans woke this Easter Sunday to Donald Trump’s edict— “Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell.”

Sullivan and Begich cheered Trump’s disastrous decision to go to war. Trump and his courtesans didn’t bother to think it through.

Such cowardly silence, while Trump claimed “a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again,” is criminal.

Sullivan did find time Tuesday to boast about $600 million in federal money that will be spent on broadband in Alaska, a safe topic that will not trigger the Supreme Leader.

By contrast, Murkowski said Trump’s words “are an affront to the ideals our nation has sought to uphold and promote around the world for 250 years.”

His threats to destroy a civilization undermine “our long-standing role as a global beacon of freedom” and directly endanger the lives of Americans in the U.S. and abroad.

Trump has done more than undermine our role in the world. He is well on the way to destroying it.
